1. The Motivation High

You’ve looked at more transformation pictures than you can count and you are ready to get on board. In twelve weeks you are going to have a six pack and everyone will be asking you how in the world you did it. You laid out your workout clothes the night before, told yourself you weren’t going to eat anything bad for you, and even drank an entire bottle of water before 9:00 AM.

2. The Calm Before The Storm

The time has come. You’ve made it to the gym in your cute workout gear and you are ready to grind. You take a peek at your Monday workout and Hey! Look at that! It really doesn’t even look that hard. Body weight squats? Please. You could do this in your sleep.

3. No Pictures Please (okay, maybe just one...)

What can you say? You’re killing it. Sure you can feel the burn a little bit, but you know that it’s just the feeling before your butt is going to look great in that new pair of Lulu leggings you just bought.

4. Questioning Your Existence... And sanity.

You’re out of breath, dripping sweat, and you can actually hear your muscles begging you to stop… did I mention it has only been 14 minutes? Yeah girlfriend, you’re only halfway there. Whether you’re Catholic or not, go ahead and hit yourself with a quick across-the-body cross and pray that your heart doesn’t stop before this is over. Why would anyone ever choose to do this to themselves?????

5. Death By Kayla

It is official. You are a shell of a human being. Everything hurts and you are questioning every decision you’ve made up to the point of allowing yourself to be put through this cruel and unusual punishment. Now you’re just going to lie here on the ground for the rest of eternity.

6. You Basically Rule.

Now that you’ve found the motivation to peel yourself off the floor, you’re feeling pretty dang good about yourself. You conquered the esteemed Kayla workout and you didn’t even die in the process. Maybe you’ll even do it again tomorrow. You now get to give passersby a smug smile of accomplishment because honestly, do they know who you are??

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
