With each passing day, the semester gets closer and closer to finishing up. It seems that there hasn't been a break in years, let alone three months. With this comes less stress, more sleep, and the best time of the year: holiday break! I know that it seems to college students that the day when you are finished with your last final and walk out of that classroom will never come, but soon enough there will be an entire month of seeing friends and family, cheerful holidays, relaxing and good food. What could be better? I know, holiday movies! Here are the ten stages of going home for the holidays as told by Christmas movie gifs. Hopefully this gets you into some holiday spirit amongst all the work that needs to be done as the semester starts winds down.
1. Finally Going Home
This scene from the Christmas movie, Love Actually, shows how great it is to be done with school and headed to a nice relaxing month at home amongst friends and family.
2. Making Plans With Your Friends
This scene from the holiday favorite, Elf, shows how much you have to fit in plan wise to make up for all of the lost time with your friends from home.
3. Being Told What To Do Again
After months of making your own decisions, smart or not, you now have your parents weighing their opinions in again.
4. Eating
Eating around the holiday time always means more food, but after three months of cafeteria food and ramen in your dorm room, you can't stop eating all the good home cooked meals and Christmas cookies.
5. Losing the Holiday Spirit
You start to miss college and your friends there and your tired of hearing all the same Christmas songs on the radio for the millionth time.
6. Getting the Holiday Spirit Back
Then you remember how much you love the season and how excited you really are.
7. Being Thankful as Everything Comes Together Perfectly
The lights, the food, the people. Everything went perfectly.
8. Going Back to School
It's been great to be home, but you are ready to see what adventures the next semester brings.
