The Spud fit challenge is a potato cleanse. The objective is to simply eat potatoes all day without measuring your food or counting calories. There can be no added condiments or toppings really. The amount of time you can do this cleanse is up to you. Andrew Taylor started the challenge and expanded it to a whole year. He lost 130 pounds in a year. That averages to two pounds a week. I was skeptical about the challenge because potatoes contain a lot of starch, but I decided to try. I was curious to see if it actually worked. Here is what it did to me.

I experienced accelerated weight loss. I was losing minimal weight over the last couple of weeks and my weight was up and down. When I started eating potatoes and only potatoes, I lost one pound each day. I didn't exercise one day. I added salt and vinegar for taste and experienced no water retention. I was amazed at the sudden result.

I also experienced no cravings. I love to eat meat and cheese and by day three of the potato diet, I did not miss those animal proteins. I was not hungry at all. I ate four potatoes for breakfast, three for lunch and two for dinner and I was not left unsatisfied. I also had a lot of energy. I can't sit still now. I don't want to eat until I'm starving which takes a while. With my heavy water intake, I don't feel hungry at night like I used to. It's safe to say that my metabolism definitely sped up.

I began to notice that even though I did not miss dairy or meat in my diet that I was growing an intolerance to those foods. I drank a shot of milk yesterday and my stomach began to feel weird. Then I realized this is a great way to convert into veganism. Potatoes are a plant so this is a plant based diet that I am sustaining. I don't plan on making that conversion when I am finished with the potato cleanse but if I wanted to, I know the right way to do it.

I stabilized my rate of weight loss finally. My weight loss was always sudden and unpredictable. I used to the queen of weight loss rebounds. Once I started the potato cleanse my weight loss was constant and continuous.

I plan on continuing this cleanse for about six or seven days. I've been doing it for four days. It is a test of will and discipline. I would recommend this challenge to anyone who is having digestive problems or anyone who have hit a plateau. I'm surprised that I am not tired of potatoes yet. I'd also recommend taking vitamin supplements because the nutrients from potatoes may leave you depleted of the nutrients you should be getting from other foods. I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
