The Spring Break No-Brainer

The Spring Break No-Brainer

Panama City Beach and Gulf Shores have been the go- to spring break location for years. While both are a ton of fun, they’re both very expensive and a trap for underage and belligerent drinkers. Between a hotel, gas, eating out every night, alcohol, nightclubs and taxis, students spend roughly $650 throughout the week.

What if I told you it was possible to get an all- inclusive “Panama City” experience for around $500?

College Party Cruise is here to give that to you.

The Concept

College Party Cruise (CPC) is exactly what it sounds like- a party on a giant boat in the middle of the ocean. The company rents a cruise line every year during the four most popular weeks of college spring break and books it out to only college students. What you get is five nights, four days, three destinations and the time of your life with 2,000 of your closest friends- what could be better?

The Price

For the price of your room (starting at roughly $500) food and alcohol are included. Most cruises charge around $400 per room for unlimited alcohol packages or about $5 per drink. CPC and Norwegian Cruise Line want to challenge that and include alcohol in the price of your trip. Not to mention, there’s all day buffets, all the soft serve ice cream you can eat and a dinner included every night that you probably couldn’t afford even on your best week (#BrokeCollegeKid). Let’s be honest, what do we love more than food and alcohol?

The Destinations

Sure, the Florida panhandle is nice, but the Bahamas are beautiful. This year the itinerary takes spring breakers to Grand Bahama Island, Nassau and Norwegian Cruise Line’s private Island, Great Stirrup Cay. In Nassau, CPC sets up camp with an open bar on the beach and your wristband ensures you discounted drinks when the open bar is closed.

The Catch

There isn't one. I know this all sounds too good to be true- a trip to the bahamas, a party boat, free alcohol, all for less than a trip to PCB, but I assure you it’s all 100 percent real and straight forward. I’m sure now you’re wondering why you never did this in the past, because I asked myself the same thing.

How to Book

Get your friends together and go to collegepartycruise.com. Make sure everyone is at least 18 and that you have 1 person per room that will be 21 by the date of sailing. Get $100 ready for your down payment and book now! The rest of your payment isn’t due until 90 days prior to your sailing date,(AKA Christmas money and spring refund checks), so you have nothing to worry about except for the $100 down payment. Rooms are booking fast (700 bookings last week alone!) so don’t wait on the best spring break deal around!

Use my promo code at checkout and get a free koozie, tank top and bag when you board your cruise: CPCORTRANSFER

Can’t wait to see everyone in March, let’s get shipfaced!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
