The Smoothie You Need To Be Drinking

If you're not on the smoothie train, you ought' to jump on quick.

Smoothies are quick, easy, portable, healthy, filling, colorful, creative and delicious. Not to mention slimming and a 'snacking' preventer. How much more convincing could you need???

Since beginning my own binge on smoothies, I have had to mix things up and experiment outside my typical strawberry-banana-orange juice recipe. Some have been good, some barely drinkable, but this recipe is stellar and I highly encourage you to make it, like right now or tomorrow, if you are reading this on Facebook in bed at 11:00 at night.

What you need: A Magic Bullet (or blender), strawberry kefir, spinach leaves, 1 mango, 1 banana, pineapple (fresh is obviously better, but a can is cheaper!) & 1/2 cup of almond milk.

Slice banana, mango, pineapple and set aside.

Pour the almond milk into the blender cup and add a generous handful of spinach leaves- liquid helps to break up and blend the spinach leaves.

Blend! Blend! Blend!

Toss in your banana, mango and pineapple. Blend again!

Top with a small pour of strawberry kefir. Final blend!

Pour into a glass or drink right out of the blender cup and enjoy!

***Ice cubes can be added to keep the smoothie cold longer, but if you run out of space for ice in the blender, place in the freezer for 30 minutes- it does the trick.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
