6 Characteristics Of The Prom Squad

Prom. The night every girl waits four years for. Throughout this night, six different personalities can shine through every "prom squad," especially the night of my senior prom. Granted, this may not be the story for all prom-goers, but it was for me.

1. The Party Girl

The girl who only wants to have a good time, doesn't care if she makes a fool of herself, and just wants to make as many memories as possible. The one who drives circles in the parking lot, jamming to Fetty Wap getting the whole crew too hyped.

2. The Dramatic Girl

This is the girl who shows up late to the pre-prom party because she takes seven hours to get her hair and makeup done. God bless her soul, but she's even late to the pictures because her makeup line wasn't properly blended. Nonetheless, she keeps everyone looking 100 percent all night long.

3. The Tag-Along

This is the junior who is too cool to hang with people her own age, so she chills with the seniors all night long. She's learning the ropes for what to do/not to do for her own senior prom next year.

4. The Funny Girl

This is the girl you can count on when times get too serious. She's always there to lighten the mood. She helps make fun of our dance moves and keeps everyone sane between all of the pictures.

5. The Kind One

This is the girl who lifts you up when your ex-boyfriend shows up with a borderline prettier girl than you. She's always there to lift your spirits and makes sure there's no hard feelings between members of the squad.

6. The Mom

This member of the squad could easily be the most important one. She's always there to keep an eye on who you leave with and isn't afraid to put her foot down when you're about to make a stupid decision.

So keep these traits in mind when you're assembling your prom squad. When added together, these girls found the perfect balance of sassy and sweet, and it made for a killer prom night.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
