I am one of those people that loves all of the little things in life. Whether it is from the excitement of the crisp taste of a good cup of coffee in the morning, or the sweet laughter from a child, or the anticipation of waiting for a package to arrive, I feel that enjoying little moments in life make everything so much better. To be around family and hear about the latest updates even if you just see them for a day, but to be around them and see them is so worth it because you get to see them. It is so important to take the time and just stop and think, “Wow, how lucky am I.”
Generally, most people are so busy worrying about other things than to truly appreciate what they have, which is OK because everyone gets busy and that is totally understandable. But, have you ever thought of taking a minute for your self? To enjoy doing something you love again? There is nothing wrong with saying you need a break from life’s distractions and making your distraction to get a way from a while. Whether it is from taking a walk on that 30-minute lunch break you have at work or trying a new dish at your favorite restaurant, just do it. The simplest of things can make a big difference sometimes whether you believe it or not.
As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how precious life can be, and you have to take each moment and hold on to it. You never know what curveball life will throw at you next, so enjoy the little things. I can’t express how important they are until they can be easily taken away from you. Go out with a group of your best friends and just take silly, obnoxious pictures or say hi to a random person because that is what living is all about -- taking the chance to try something new. No, you don’t have to go climb a huge mountain, but just enjoy yourself in the places you go.
Speaking from someone who has missed out on things in life I thought weren’t important, but now I realize were, I wish I would have paid more attention to what was in front of me. Worrying about other things in life such as irrelevant social media posts, or who said what, will not matter later on in life. So, take this advice and enjoy the simply joys in life even if they are small. Enjoy them and open your heart to things you never thought could be possible and just live.
