Slight problem: Missouri legislature passed the SB656 bill. Understand, here in the lovely state of Missouri, or the Show-Me State, has a Republican-controlled legislature and a democratic Govenor. So even though Jay Nixon vetoed the bill, our lovely legislature decided to override it, and pass SB656. This means that citizens of Missouri can carry a concealed weapon WITHOUT a permit, criminal background check, or firearms training.

Yikes, I know.

See, you will still need a permit and training and such to purchase a firearm, but only when you're buying from federally licensed dealers. Typically when a persons buys a gun from thier neighbor down the street or off of Craigslist, the seller does not require a background check. By passing this law, Missouri has a inadvertently (or not, who knows) established a "Stand Your Ground" premise. Because of this, the risk of gun-related violence is more than likely to greatly increase. Missouri has opened the door to 'accidents' such as the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
