You know it better than I do, there is an unfortunate truth about yourself you choose to ignore. You have always pondered a dream that you can never see becoming true...Whether it be a song to write, a club to start, or a person to talk to. You let yourself down, looking at the opinions of others or your own as the pillars of your mind. It does not matter, you know you have some burning desire inside.

Like a burning candle, it is small at first but can become a force to reckon with it due time. Like the Sun, if you think about it, you could have a little star burning right in your living room right now. Or its a roaring fire where you are roasting s'mores and share laughs. Just look up at the stars my friend, outer space is just one big wildfire of candles in the sky. And to think that all of those candles had started with one burning desire, just like yourself.

So I ask you friend, before you continue reading, are you ready to ignite your candle?

First, accept your burning desire, its not going anywhere. You already know what it is and I surely do not need to tell you twice. You cannot change what you were born to do, so embrace it. Step into the moment and realize your own power. This is your runway my friend, the spotlight has always been on you. Let's find you a nice pair of sunglasses, its time to put them on.

Steve Jobs once said " The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do...."

Do not believe him? That's ok right now, you only think he is crazy.

But just as my friend Steve and I believe, the same goes for you. Just by clicking and reading this article, you can begin to realize how close you are to changing the course of humanity.

Let me tell you about my old friend Ruth Wakefield. She is truly a fantastic woman and loves her cookies! For those who do not know, I had lunch with her the other day and she wanted me to pass on the way her story goes:

Being the owner of The Toll House Inn and Toll House's famous Chocolate Chip Cookies, she never thought she would have such a day. I always forget the exact date but sometime in the year of 1930....It was just another day for Ruth, she was baking some lovely cookies. She takes pride in putting baker's chocolate into her dough, however one day she realized she ran out! Overwhelmed with exhaustion, she decided to put Nestle's Chocolate into the mix thinking that the chocolate would melt. To her surprise, the chocolate actually stayed in little chunks!

SO I ask you all, my fellow readers this....

Did Ruth think the chocolate would stay in chunks after baking?

OF COURSE NOT! SHE HAD NO IDEA! SHE WAS JUST AN AVERAGE PERSON JUST LIKE YOU, WHO NEVER THOUGHT SHE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD...

But ignoring my over use of Capitalization, she changed the world with the invention of chocolate chip cookies. She could not think about the scope of her discovery at first either, seeing now that she has put smiles on kids faces for generations. Yet she still did....

Just like my friend Ruth, I could have told her the same thing I am telling you right now and she would not believe me! It's funny how she never thought she could change the world but she did. So imagine if you actually thought you can change the world....If Ruth can do it without trying I am sure you can do even better by trying!! I hope I got my point across today friends, I feel a storm brewing in the future.

Again it is ok if you do not think I am serious yet, because I think very highly of all of you.I also think you took the first step by reading this article.

So grab your tool of choice...a fork, pencil, hammer, or hand. And with a cookie in the other hand, change the course of humanity and yourself forever.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
