We've all been there. We know that there is a serious strategy to Netflix watching and that there truly is no controlling the amount of time one will spend glued to the screen. But among all things that is the greatness of Netflix, there is truth in the fact that each and everyone of us gets joy out of binge watching our favorite shows. In short, Netflix gives us life.

1. You select a show

This show looks nice to you. It has an appealing picture of the cast and has a good review from not only Netflix but also your friends and family. This show comes highly recommended by Netflix itself (as it currently knows all of your likes and dislikes in a non creepy sort of way) and is possibly exactly what you have been looking for to cure the boredom with which your life is filled.

2. You begin watching

You think that you are just going to watch one or two episodes. You then become engrossed in the lives of the main characters and you find yourself rooting for those who you like and completely hating those who ruin the lives of the main characters. Your day begins to be formed around the amount of time per day in which you have to watch Netflix. This is how it begins.

3. You finish one season

Now your weeks depend on the outcome of the show you are now watching. Not only is this show what you base your days upon, but your life and overall emotions are all dependent upon how the lives of the character’s pan out on the screen. You want them to succeed. You need them to succeed. They give you life.

4. You enter A new world

So there goes one season. And then another. And then another. Soon enough hours upon hours are flying by and all you have to show for your progress of your day to day life is how many episodes and seasons you have proceeded to finish in one sitting. Not only that but how many snacks you can consume during the process of watching this show that has taken over your life.

5. Someone tries to help you

A friend, or maybe a family member now becomes concerned by the amount of Netflix and episodes of a show you are proceeding to watch on a day to day basis. They grow worried and attempt to stop you from watching these shows. They try to get you to go outside and get some fresh air. You yell. You scream. You protest their attempt at separating you from the characters you now love from your favorite show. In the end you are the winner of this enactment of World War Ⅲ because everyone knows there is no stopping Netflix binge watching sessions. It’s like a coma.

6. You finish the series

Your heart hurts. You’ve now successfully completed an entire series. No longer will you wait to find out what happened to your favorite characters because the show ends. There are no more seasons to watch. No more drama to spice up your days and no more tear jerking moments to make you question life as you know it. It’s over. Life has lost it’s meaning once more.

7. You come out of a coma and start again

You begin to realize that you’ve spent your days watching a singular show. You question whether or not spending all of your time doing such a thing was truly worth it. But you know deep down it was. You then go to the home page of Netflix, and pick another show, and it begins all over again because Netflix is life and Netflix gives people purpose.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
