Everyone deals with the loss of a TV series differently but everyone goes through the seven stages of grief after the loss of your favorite characters.
1.Shock and Denial We’ve all been there. You start a series on Netflix and before you can say “It’s Monday already?” you’ve watched all ten seasons and the theme song is playing for the last time. Your 36-hour binge watch has come to an end and you aren’t sure what to do with your life now. How will you let go? How will you move on? You cant. No series will ever be as funny, dramatic, perfect or complex as this one.
2.Pain and Guilt As the shock wears off you understand just what you’ve done. The pain from being in the same position for hours. And the guilt, oh the guilt from the neglected responsibilities and pile of pizza and takeout boxes on your coffee table.
3.Anger and Bargaining Next come the rolls of anger. Anger at your friend that recommended the show to you. Angry at the cast for not signing on for another season. You bargain with yourself like if you start the season over you’ll never watch it again, just one more time.

You look back at stills from the show and you laugh, you cry and then you get sad again because you’re all alone. Your TV show characters have left you to live your life without them.
5.The Upward Turn Eventually you have to shower and get up in the morning and live your life with real people clothes on.
6.Reconstruction and Working Through You get back into your normal routine and you think about the show less and less each day.
7.Acceptance and Hope You can finally think of the show with fond memory and accept its ending and its part of your life. You can finally move on. Until you find another show to watch…
