The 7 People You Definitely Meet At Disney World

You know them, and they know you.

As a college kid going back to Disney World for the first time in years, the primary feeling you get is a mixture of awe, nostalgia, and plain exuberance. But there are those, you begin to notice, who aren’t exactly on the same wavelength as you when it comes to exploring the park. Laugh, be annoyed, or enjoy them, you know them, and they know you.

1. The Family Man

He’s got a kid hanging from his chest, one over his shoulders, and he’s pushing two in front of him in a side-by-side stroller. He’s a human battering ram, and you better get out of his way.

2. The “Too Young to Remember Any Of This” Kid

She’s two, three at best, meeting every single princess and riding everything with Fastpasses, but you ask yourself “Why? She’ll forget it in a few years!” Bonus points for meltdowns at character greetings.

3. The Shopaholic

Armed with a Disney brand credit card, she prowls the cookie-cutter gift stores religiously, seeking every piece of Snow White merchandise for her niece at home. She usually doesn’t ride anything, and has at least one Disney-affiliated Burberry purse.

4. The Tee-Shirt Herd

Yes, we know that this is your Disney Vacation 2016, and that you’re Paw-Paw, but we don’t care. We don’t really care about the names of the other twelve members of your family who came along, either. Think of all the time you spent making those tee shirts that could have been used enjoying your actual vacation!

5. The Superfan

Dressed head-to-toe in Disney gear, they walk into the park like they own it (and they might own a share, considering how much merchandise they have), can sing along to every Disney song, and will effectively go on every ride during the course of the day, which is really quite impressive.

6. The Planner

She’s running with family in tow to get to their 2:15 Fastpass to Splash Mountain followed by a 2:30 meet-and-greet with Ariel, followed by a 2:50 lunch at the Crystal Palace, followed by a 4:30 Fastpass to Buzz Lightyear’s Spaceranger Spin...every moment of every day is mapped out like this. It’s a wonder she doesn’t overheat.

7. The Over-Excited Adults

Most of us fit into this group: practically skipping into the park, meeting every character imaginable, and riding even the most infantile of rides, we love it all, and everything Disney represents. To so many, Disney World means so much, whether it be their own childhood, or the legacy they wish to pass down to their own children, and a visit to the parks truly brings out the kid in them, as well as everyone, who wants to relive the magic.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
