Happiness. It’s one of those things that seems so easy to grasp and have but is anyone ever truly happy?
I’m that person that you will find with a smile on my face 95% of the time or more. I try to always keep a positive attitude even in the worst situations. Whether I’m laughing at my own jokes, puns, a clumsy foolish act, or just my life in general, I tend to not care about what others are thinking of me if it’s making me happy in that moment of time. Don’t let others bring you down; do what you love, be yourself, live in the moment and always remember to laugh.
I don’t want materialistic things; I want experiences, people, thoughts, and meaningful memories. I’ve learned that to be happy you need to learn to appreciate the most basic things in life. You shouldn’t need the newest technology but instead, if you’re given a box of chalk, take advantage of it and color your world on the pavement. Take the time to laugh with your parents or your siblings. Make the most of yourself falling out of an uber or tripping up the stairs instead of getting embarrassed. Later on, those will all make for the best stories. Learn to surround yourself with the most upbeat people, whether it’s your significant other, your best friends, whomever, they better be able to put a smile on your face or they’re doing something wrong.
When happiness comes to mind, though, I truly want to experience it. I want to travel to a foreign country and make a fool of myself being a tourist. Or I want a food fight with my significant other where in that moment, nothing else matters except that my heart is carefree and light as a bird. Give me that unconditional happiness and the noiseless laughter that will have me in tears by the end. Give me something to be grateful for at the end of the day that I can look back on and say, “Wow, I’m really happy with where I am in my life.”
So yes, it seems so easy to achieve, but you must build from the ground up. Who cares about what technology came out. Instead, go swimming at 2 am, build those meaningful relationships and friendships and trust that whoever's there, will give you all the bliss you need to live an incredibly happy life.Keep Smiling!
