The Secret To A 4.0

Spring semester of 2017 has begun! Queue the sleepless nights spent in the library, six cups of coffee, and frustration with homework problems they did NOT teach you how to do in class.

It's going to be a long semester, but you can emerge on the other side with a GPA that will make all the effort worth it.

Auburn University does an incredible job of providing students with resources that will enable them to make an A in every class, from World History to Calculus III. The only thing standing between you and that impressive transcript is... you! Here is a list of available resources at our wonderful university!

Plainsmen's Prep
This is a review session for upcoming freshman to prepare you for the rigors of college Calculus. It takes place a week before the start of fall semester.

Miller Writing Center
Do you have a tough English class this semester? Maybe a ten-paged argumentative essay you need an A on? The Miller Writing Center is the perfect place to get individual feedback on your assignments so that you can become aware of your weaknesses as writer and revise your essays so they can relay your intended message clearly.

Study Partners
This program is a one-on-one tutoring service that allows you to schedule an appointment with a student who will guide you through a tough section you are having trouble with. It is free tutoring provided by Auburn - Schedule your appointment today!

Supplemental Instruction
A key component of most science courses, SI is an extra session held usually twice a week to review the material you are learning in class. In depth review of the in-class lectures helps you retain material, actually understand what you are learning instead of memorizing information, and make better grades on tests. The leaders of these sessions are former students of the class you are taking, so they know better than anybody what is expected from you in order to make a great mark!

Personal Tutors
If you're still needing more assistance, look into hiring a personal tutor. Many students post flyers throughout campus and are more than willing to help you understand material (at a small cost).

College is doubt a challenge, but your effort to seek out assistance will be rewarded. Good luck, and War Eagle!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
