To The Roomie That Deserves A Thank You

Thankful For You

To The Roomie That Deserves A Thank You
Lacy Frost

This is for all the college kids that live in close quarters with another person. I want to give a little recognition to my roommate and I hope you can relate.

Dear Roomie,

It's me, your crazy roommate...

I never knew that I would become so close with someone so quick (besides the whole 12 feet by 15 feet room situation)

We literally went a whole week without seeing each other and it felt weird. Thanksgiving went by quickly, but I just did not realize that I had not told you how thankful I am for you.

I'm thankful for the daily encouragement that we give each other. Whether it's just a note when I get up or a random text during the day, you are always encouraging me. I am forever grateful.

I am thankful for the random trips that turn into the best memories. Yes, most of these random trips are to get food, but we defiantly bond over food. (I will say that it is a huge plus to have a roommate that loves food just like you do!!)

I am thankful for your heart for the Lord and others. Your heart is so beautiful. You push me to the cross daily, and your actions do not go unseen.

(I could say so many inside jokes here, but none of you would understand them.)

In closing, my dad really was right when he said that I would meet my lifelong friends in college, and you have become one of those friends.

I love you, and I always will.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
