As the new school year begins, everyone is excited to be back with all their friends and especially their roommates. Living with your best friends is exciting and you have so much you want to do, so I am creating a roomie bucket list, not just for roommates, but also for friends. I know my BFF and I planned to do so many things, but either forgot or never got around to it. Hopefully, by writing this list we will do it and you can do it as well. Let's begin the roomie bucket list:

1. Get on a first name basis with their family.

I mean you are basically family, you might as well become a part of theirs.

2. Celebrate birthdays in a BIG way.

3. Stay in and have a Disney movie night.

4. Go to a midnight premiere of a movie.

Any movie, any time (well midnight), anywhere

5. Cook something new together.

Tiramisu, anyone?

6. ROAD TRIP!

7. Go apple/pumpkin picking in the fall.

MC this one is for you!

8. Make snow-cream in the winter.

Especially for the ones who have never had it

9. Start a TV show from the beginning and watch all of it together.

I suggest One Tree Hill

10. Do something you always wanted to do, but never have done.

This could be ANYTHING!

11. Visit a random museum.

12. Explore the farmer's market.

13.Have a middle school sleepover-complete with mani/pedis and a pillow fight.

14. Go to a sporting event.

Go pack!

15. Travel to a sporting event.

Hopefully your team makes it far enough to go to a championship

16. Visit each other's hometown.

You know you want to see where they grew up.

17. Attend a concert.

18. Spend a day at the beach.

19. Make a craft for your place together.

20. Decorate for EVERY holiday-even Presidents Day.

21. Zip line through a forest.

22. Jump off of a waterfall.

23. Karaoke night!

24. Shopping spree.

Even if it is just a trip to Wal-Mart.

25. Volunteer together somewhere.

26. Participate in your own version of cupcake wars.

Nothing like some roomie competition

27. Do each other's favorite activity.

28. Run a marathon (or walk it).

Walking for those who refuse to run

29. Go camping.

30. Roomie game night.

A must!

31. Visit an amusement park.

Preferably Disney World

32. Go on a double date...

or triple or quadruple.

33. Learn a new trade.

Pottery, knitting, archery, you name it!

34. Picnic in the park.

35. Enjoy every minute together!

Who knows how long you will be living together?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
