The "RAW" Experience

It’s every wrestling fan’s dream— Attending a live taping of what killed World Championship Wrestling’s “Monday Nitro” sixteen years ago… “Monday Night Raw”. Since I got lucky once and saw “Smackdown!” in May, I thought I would take the chance and get near front row tickets to the Labor Day, Kansas City spectacular of WWE’s “RAW”.

Sunday before, 2 PM - Shirt design and Bob Backlund

Of course every time I go to a show, a sign is usually made and taken along.

But since it’s RAW we’re talking about, it has to be BIG. So, me along with my S.O decided a huge head would be exactly what we need. Thirty minutes, twenty dollars, a screaming match/apologies and accidentally putting some pieces the wrong way, we finally got our new friend, Bob, ready to go.

Along with Bob, we decided if we looked like some of the stars on “Raw”, we may be able to get to be on screen because of the striking resemblance.

Since I’m a blonde and John is build like a rectangle… okay maybe exaggerating a little… We decided to go for the only couple that would make sense— Rusev and Lana.

We could pass... Right?

Well… Since Rusev does not have a shirt (What a loser), we had to get creative….

Shout out to ACME shirts for being quick, easy to work with and cheap! 10/10 recommend get something if you stop by.

Everything is ready to go…. Well minus us physically… But that would be stupid to do that.

Monday 10 AM - Why he trusts me, I’ll never quite understand

Well… Woke up like a six year old on Christmas. I’m ready to go.

We totally realize that John’s facial hair was too much for a Rusev, and he let me trim it. ME.

Anyway, we decided to stop and see my family, and evidently left the most important thing…. THE TICKETS. After a detour, and a trip to Walmart for a fake title, we finally made it to see my family.

2 PM - Prepping the diva

I apologize for the ugly looks right now, but a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do.

Obviously it takes time, and mostly looked really close enough to Lana.

Excuse my looks, or laugh… Your pick.

Definitely wasn’t an easy task, any girl would tell you.

4PM - Driving around Power and Light, KCMO

We officially arrived. Food was an ultimate first, as the sprint center food is expensive and not the best in taste…. And Finally….

THE WAIT IS OVER!

We got to our seats, with Bob of course, and watch what was the greatest experience in my twenty years on Earth.

I got to see more of people I love watching, and see people’s lives change and even got a little girl a balloon from Kevin Owen’s celebration of winning the universal title.

Is life complete for this WWE fan? Hell no, it’s not.

Maybe WrestleMania XXXIII? A different pay per view? NXT takeover?

Whatever it is, you’ll see me doing what I do.

Stay ravishing people.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
