The Queen Of Class: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn dazzled the world with grace and confidence throughout her life. With her iconic work in Hollywood, she became one of the most revered and beloved actresses during the Golden Age. She will forever be idolized for her beauty, elegance and style. Audrey inspires us all with her fierce optimism, love and compassion. Through her work as a UNICEF ambassador, Audrey traveled across the world to help those living in impoverished countries. She never stopped caring for others, and even in the last months of her life she worked in Somalia to help educate the children there. Audrey Hepburn embodied perfection in every way possible, and we should all strive to live her inspiring words.

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others, for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness, and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life- to be happy- it’s all that matters.”

“People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.”

“Let’s face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”

“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.”

“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says I’m Possible.”

“Always be the leading lady of your own life.”

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

"You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about.”

“Paris is always a good idea.”

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
