The formation of a human life in the womb takes approximately 9 months during that process the embryo is given different attributes, characteristics, traits, and features. Some may beneficial, while others might not come out the best. What we get is not up to us, but to our parents who carry these traits and pass it on to their offspring. Those traits can include beauty, intelligence, skin color, hair color, eye color, height, and so on. Most of these are basic traits, but some of us are given the “gift” of extended youth. I say gift in quotations, because it’s really up to you to decide whether you consider it a gift. We the young-looking people of the world go through different obstacles and advantages on a daily basis, which I’ve listed below for you to decide whether it’s a blessing or a curse...

PROS:

1. You can get away with many discounts

You know exactly what I’m talking about whether it’s child admission at an amusement park, student discounts, cheaper prices at a buffet, etc..

2. People think you’re harmless and wouldn’t hurt a fly *evil laugh*

Someone who is younger looking tend to be considered innocent or harmless, it’s great when you get in trouble because nobody believes it...

3. You can shop in the younger section with no problem and it’s cheaper

It’s saves a good amount of money especially when it comes to sneakers.

4. Freedom to be more immature than most just because

As long as you look young, take advantage to the max because why not? Looking young can be a blessing in disguise.

5. If your good genes keep on the same route, you’ll be looking fabulous when you’re much older

Right now, we might not see the bright side of this dilemma, but in the future it will be all we have.

CONS:

1. People don’t believe you when you tell them your age... I’m 21, not 12

I’ve had this happen to many times to count. I’ll even show them my ID to prove my age but doesn’t work very well either especially when going out to drink. I guess I’ll have to grow a mustache and beard to prove myself.

2. When you’re working and people joke around saying “Aren’t you too young to be working here?”

I don’t understand why this is even a joke, child labor is against the law. There is no funny business here. HAHAHAHAHA, NO!

3. People don’t take you seriously and still think you’re a kid

When you go do adult things like go to a doctor’s appointment or something, and people ask you where are your parents? Like I don’t need them to be here, I’m over 18. HELLO?!

4. Guys/Girls think you’re too young for them

Let’s be real, dating is already tough in the modern day. As for me, guys think I’m younger than I actually am. I might as well write “I’m 21” on my forehead.

5. You may get confused for being in a younger grade like middle school

This is the most embarrassing one. I’ve had this happen to me several times before. The most embarrassing one was when a substitute teacher asked me if I was in the right class in FRONT of the whole class because I looked like a 7th grader, when I was in 10th grade.

6. Your friends call you “cute” ALL THE DAMN TIME!

STOP PLEASE IMMEDIATELY! I’m not a baby, DO NOT call me “cute.”

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
