My first semester living at college brought along many interesting things and one of which is living on an all-girls floor. Since the male to female ratio at SUNY Oneonta is approximately two to three, there is a higher chance for your floor to end up as an all- girls floor. It's been pretty interesting living around 39 other girls. There are a lot of pros and cons to this situation, but I've enjoyed it.
Here are my top pros and cons to living on an all girls floor
Pros
1. You get two bathrooms instead of one female and one male.
That means two extra shower stalls!
2. More people to get opinions about outfits.
When trying on dresses for formals or if you have an interview coming up and need to wear business attire, but your roommate isn't around, you can quickly run across the hall or down the hall for a quick opinion.
3. More people to borrow clothes and stuff from.
"Do you have a LBD I could borrow for tomorrow night? Mine is in the wash."
4. Binge watch chick flicks with your door open.
Sometimes, all you want to watch are chick flicks or seasons of "Gossip Girl," and you don't want to be judged by your male friends as to why you're so wrapped up in a film or TV show.
5. Being able to walk around in a towel or robe and not worry about boys being around.
Because walking out of the bathroom in a towel and walking into a guy isn't something that makes your day.
Cons
1. There are 39 girls sharing two bathrooms.
Hair strands and feminine products galore.
2. Screaming.
When did screaming when seeing your friends for the first time all day become a thing?
3. Hormones.
This is self-explanatory.
4. Hair. Hair and more hair.
Girls are natural born shedders. You'll find strands of hair on the floor, in the showers, in the sinks and, sometimes, even on the walls.
5. Gossip central.
Word gets around very quickly, especially when you live on a floor with all girls.
