Inspiration is mysterious and elusive, and your odds go tumbling down as you near a deadline. Getting over the hurdle of writer's block is almost as bad as the "uphill both ways walk to school" everybody's parents say they had. However, waiting for a lightning strike of inspiration is prime procrastination time. You can do anything your heart desires.

Eat snacks.
Check Facebook.
Check Instagram.
Check Snapchat.
Recheck all three.
Stare at nothing.
Stare at your blinking cursor.
Google "topics to write about".
Groan in frustration because it shouldn't be this hard.
Become an expert at bottle flipping.
Stare at the ceiling.
Make weird faces at your screen.
Tap out random beats on your desktop.
The possibilities are endless, but eventually, the light bulb will go on, and you'll be able to write again... Maybe even about everything you did while trying to find your inspiration.
