The holidays are a time we all look forward to. For college students, this means going home from school for a little bit of relaxation from living in the library for the past couple of months. I know after being in Morgantown for several months, I'm beyond ready to get out of here for awhile.

Whether it is a week for Thanksgiving or basically a month for Christmas, it really is a fix we all need after dealing with the stress of school. While being home from school is great, the actual holiday is even better! Getting to see extended family and eating hoards of food -- what could be better? But then it comes to the technicalities. Who are you spending the holiday with -- Mom or Dad?

Don't get me wrong -- my parents being divorced is great for our family. But trying to make everyone happy during the holiday's is extremely difficult. It seems like no matter what you end up doing someone gets let down, which is the opposite of feeling the holiday spirit. I want to be able to see all of my family on the same day, but without having to go through an awkward joint holiday with your divorced parents. It's supposed to be a time when your family is together, but it's difficult to be with your family when your family is split up.

Of course, you want to see all of your family on a few of the greatest days of the year. Your grandparents, your uncles and aunts, and your cousins -- this idea never works nearly as well as you want it to, though. Therefore, you have to split up your days and end up having two Thanksgivings or two Christmas's. When this happens, all I can think about on the day of when I'm supposed to be having a good time is that you're letting the other parent down by not being with them on this day.

Because of this, I have learned how to eat an extreme amount of food on Thanksgiving. When you have up to four Thanksgiving meals to go to one day, it makes you never want to eat turkey ever again. My sister and I have learned the perfect amounts of food you have to eat. This is why you have to learn to proportion well, so you can have a nice meal with every bit of family you are supposed to eat with that day,

As my sister says, "this is why St. Patrick's day is the best holiday -- you don't owe anything to anyone except alcohol."

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
