The Australian band, for KING & COUNTRY, has an important campaign that needs to receive more attention. This campaign is called “The Priceless Movement” and every person, especially every woman, needs to hear about it.

Joel and Luke Smallbone, the lead singers of the band, pride themselves in their chivalrous treatment of women. They claim that every woman should know what they’re worth: priceless. for KING & COUNTRY persuades men to treat women with continuous respect and lead by example through the lyrics of their songs, onstage encouragement, and in their own personal lives.

With the recent rise to fame, for KING & COUNTRY is doing something right. Although they’re labeled as a Christian artist, this band is becoming the subject of more than your average church goer.

Their debut album, Crave, was released in 2012 and peaked at No. 128 on the Billboard 200. Three years later, their next album, Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong (2015), stayed on the Billboard 200 for 17 weeks and broke No. 13. Their success shows by the winning of two Grammy Awards in 2015, including Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, and Best Contemporary Music Performance/Song (a huge accomplishment for any band).

Their continuous performances at county fairs, amusement parks, and Winter Jam Tours over the past several years have sparked major interest outside of the Christian community. This is one of those bands that any person, no matter what religious belief, can listen to. These Australians just produce amazing music. for KING & COUNTRY performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March of 2015, performed on The View in April of 2016, and have even had two of their songs featured in episodes of the CW’s Vampire Diaries.

Get this: for KING & COUNTRY released a cover of Taylor Swift’s song “Out of the Woods” that received recognition from Taylor Swift herself with a tweet that had the video. She tagged @4kingandcountry, and posted “This is one of my favorite covers I’ve heard of Out of the Woods—amazing job.”

You see, these men also really know how to put on a show. Their live performances are high energy and exciting, adding unique percussive instruments like marching cymbals and bass drums into their music for effect. Not only are they entertaining, but their concerts are filled with positive vibes and encouraging words, which brings us back to the priceless movement.

The Priceless Movement has been a snowballing part of for KING & COUNTRY over the past few years. Starting with the release of their Priceless necklaces and Respect & Honor bracelets, Joel and Luke wear the jewelry at every show and talk about how these pieces represent the respect and honor that women should be treated with. The necklace is a real Australian penny hanging from a simple chain that was designed to remind every woman she is worth more than all the money in the world. She is priceless. They want to remind men and women of this, not only for treatment in relationships, but to bring attention to the human trafficking that is going on all over the world.

The positive responses to the movement lead the band to release a song called “Priceless.” Not many knew that something even bigger was on the horizon for this band. They had taken their campaign to the next level with the announcement of Priceless the movie, inspired by true stories of human trafficking. Luke Smallbone is a producer and Joel Smallbone actually plays the lead male role in the film. Priceless comes to theaters on October 14th, 2016.

The trailer is quite suspenseful as the story follows a man who has made some bad decisions and blindly gets caught in the middle of a human trafficking exchange. Horrified, the man decides to intervene to save the girls’ lives from a life of imprisonment. He must risk his own life to free them.

For KING & COUNTRY has also released a book on September 6th, 2016 that is based on the events from the movie, titled Priceless: She’s Worth Fighting For.

So how big is this “Priceless Movement” exactly? As big as we can make it. Everyone needs to see this movie and spread the word because human trafficking has to stop. We can’t be afraid to talk about this topic and face the reality of how common human trafficking is. Spread the word about this movement and everything it stands for because humans should not be bought and sold. for KING & COUNTRY’s goal is to spread awareness about the treatment of women worldwide. Every woman needs to know their worth—Priceless.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
