What exactly is the definition of perfect?
Perfect-(Adjective)
* Having all of the required or desirable elements, qualities or characteristics; as good as it was possible to be. *
Nowadays, perfect is no flaws.
But what exactly is a flaw?
Flaw-(noun)
*a mark, fault, or other imperfection*
Who is perfect to everyone? No one.
No matter how hard you try, you will never be perfect to everyone.
One day you will come across someone and ask them the definition of perfect. They will reply with your name because you will be perfect to them. Teenagers nowadays pressure themselves to be perfect to suit others that they most likely won’t keep in contact with after high school. One of the top three reasons for self-harm in teenagers is trying to be good enough to suit others. That’s not what it’s about. No one should settle for less and lower their confidence because of other people. Others tend to ignore the bad labels that people give them for being anorexic, for cutting, for being bulimic. Everything everyone does gets labeled in a negative way. When one labels another, it makes it worse and the problem begins to grow, when in reality it might have started because of them.
People don’t understand how much words hurt. One kid calls another “ugly”. He doesn’t think anything of it when he calls the kid ugly. The kid brushes it off the first time but it still bothers him. Two weeks later his sister calls him ugly and worthless. It gets to him more but he keeps going. Later his parents get angry and take it out on him. They call him a disgrace. He starts believing all of it. I mean if three people, two of which being your family, it must be true right? No. The kid starts getting more and more rude comments and can’t take it anymore. He has nothing to do, no one to go to, and nothing to say anymore. He has no one supporting him. He feels alone. He starts to self-harm and some people see his scars at school. They start calling him worthless, pointless, disgrace, cutter, insecure, loser and more. People start judging him based on what others say and he thinks of suicide. He feels like he is every one of the things everyone said. Two nights later he is gone.
One word. One person. One action. One life.
Gone.
