The Power Of Patience

The power and importance of having great patience.

Patience is a trait that everyone on this earth should have. It is a trait that is very difficult for one to have however. This is especially difficult for others, especially me being an only child. I’m defining patience as an active state, a choice to hold tight until intuition says, “make your move.” It means waiting your turn, knowing your turn will come. There are several examples of waiting your turn in everyday life. Waiting in traffic, a line at a restaurant, waiting for that paycheck on Friday, or even waiting for your friend to get dressed to go out on a Saturday night. Patience, all in all, makes us all better people.

The importance of patience displays in most cases that "waiting is not in vain." You cannot complete long-term goals if you do not have patience. Emphasizing the importance and power of patience can shape talents even. To shape your talents and inborn abilities into real achievements, you must have patience. To master any art or to enhance your talent, you need to make continuous effort for a long time. To achieve your dreams, you must have the zeal to overcome challenges and the power to overcome roadblocks comes only from patience.

While desiring to achieve your dream, you might become intimidated by the huge tasks ahead to achieve it. Divide your task into smaller steps and set a schedule to achieve those steps. It will help you develop patience and achieve your dream in a organized way. Also, by breaking this into smaller steps, it will help you to master your mind altogether.

Patience also is needed in our relationships. Sometimes, in our relationships, we become defensive, irritated and say something to hurt others. We do not realize the importance of patience and end up making irrational decisions. Whenever you feel defensive against the person, try to be patient enough to take time to think over another person’s positive qualities. Once something is said you can't take it back. So patience will allow you to be understanding even when someone else isn't so patient. It's best to always be the bigger person.

Lastly, being patient has proven to be good for our health. Anger and stress are two things that are enough to ruin a person’s health. And patience is the cure to both. Being patient, you can overcome any challenging situation with more flexibility and in a better way. Being stress-free and happy helps you stay you healthier.

You can be patient if you have clear knowledge about your goal and if you are putting the desired effort in the right direction. There are many ways to achieve anything. The trick is to stick to your own plan when others around you seem to be getting ahead much faster than you. Yes, they may be enjoying more success than you, but you know nothing about where they are ultimately headed.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
