They are omnipresent on your Instagram feed. They dominate your Snapchat stories. They are rapidly infiltrating your town. The açaí bowl has reached the zenith of power.

Regardless of your culinary preferences, whether you were raised on Chef Boyardee or gold-leafed caviar, there is something in the açaí bowl for everyone.

Although the typical lovers of this snack are those who stop to get a quick bowl after their spinning class or on their way to work at the organic, cruelty-free thrift store, even the individual who habitually makes the most detrimental decisions to their health can belong to the fit, Lululemon-wearing crowd.

For açaí beginners, I would recommend a simple bowl with recognizable fruit—save the goji berries and bee pollen for another visit. If you are accustomed to only eating fruit ladened with sugar, Nutella is a comforting option to see on the menu.

For a busy college student trying to make it through the pernicious competition of class registration, with just one spoonful of the açaí they can transport themselves to the Amazonian waterfalls and hear the crashing water drowning all their sorrows.

After consuming the multitude of nutrients of the açaí bowl, one becomes invincible. Even if you need 30 seconds of rest in between each push-up, or struggle to run a mile on the treadmill, the insurmountable power of the açaí elevates people's confidence to be the healthiest version of themselves. An açaí bowl makes you sign up to run a marathon and download a meditation app. While the proteins and omega fatty acids from the almond butter and chia seeds are still at work, the holistic health-kick is still in full swing the day after. Instead of taking your typical 20-minute shower, you consider conserving water. You join an environmental club. You make a goal to eat less meat.

Indulging oneself in an açaí bowl alters your outlook on life. Even the most notorious pessimistic can't help but brighten up at the sight of an Instagram-worthy rainbow-colored bowl, dusted with coconut shavings and served with a brightly colored spoon.

Enjoyed with a glass of lemon water, the açaí bowl is the first step on the path to finding wellness and serenity.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
