Stories can change the world

I love words, I’ve always had.

I think that if you use them wisely, they can be very powerful; words can educate, change minds, and sometimes they can even change the world.

I believe the main reason why I love words is because I like to speak out for those who can’t. I am a writer and an animal lover, so I help animals through the stories I tell. I tell stories that inspire others to be better human beings by encouraging them to care and save the lives of those beautiful creatures that live among us.

I started narrating my experiences with different animals through social media, and many were fascinated and inspired by the stories I had to tell and soon started caring about the lives of the beautiful creatures that surround us. That was when I understood the power of storytelling

Yeah, stories can change the world, even if it is just one creature's world.

I have always been a sensitive person, expressing my feelings and being way “too honest” is what characterizes me the most. As I grew up, saying how I felt out loud started to be seen as negative by some, so I started to keep the words to myself and that is how my interest in writing grew.

I come from a place that lives a political disaster, poverty and danger abounds in the streets of my home. As the news channels got banned and the truth got censored by corruption, it was us the civilians that had the duty to let the world know. Stories became a place of refuge for many, including me.

After graduating from high school, I left my home and family looking for a better future, and took all my stories with me. I have more stories than I have years of life. With my stories I remember my family, my pets, my friends, and the harsh realities that currently sit on another country I used to call home. All I had to leave behind in order to create new stories.

I came to a place where I learned how to tell and share my stories. When I started my Media and Communications program at Full Sail University, I learned to separate stories from words. I learned that you can create stories in many different ways I never thought possible, with and without words, through videos, photography, art, content, design, and so on…

I learned that there is a million right ways to tell a story. and that stories are as powerful as the person who tells them.

The beginning of every journey is the start of a new story...

So, what is your story?

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
