The Politician is a Much Watch Show on Netflix

Dear Friends,

I hope you all had a great weekend! Fall is finally upon us, and the warm weather is slowly drifting away. Thank goodness, right? I mean it's already October and it is just now okay to wear a sweatshirt without sweating my butt off on the way to classes. It is ridiculous. Mother Nature is crazy.

Anyways, I am not here to talk about the weather. I am here to talk to you all about the new Netflix original series: The Politician. I have not finished it yet, but as of right now I am loving every second of it. Ben Platt is an AMAZING actor in this show, along with other famous actors such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Laura Dreyfuss. It is supposed to be a Comedy with a lot of political material and serious issues revolving around mental health, human rights, and much more.

I am not a politically educated guy. When people talk/argue about politics, I usually stay out of it just because I am not knowledgeable about most political topics. Now, politics is a VERY rough topic for anyone to talk about. There is always different views, opinions, topics, and so on. I love this show because it is based on a high school setting.

The overall plot of the show is that Ben Platt's character knows he is going to be president of the United States when he grows up, but he is currently dealing with becoming student body president at his high school. It is a super high paced show. So many things happen in every scene and it is incredible. Characters are double-crossing each other and fighting, and ah it is just amazing.

If you are not into politics like me, I highly suggest watching this show. It is 8 episodes long, and each episode is about 45 minutes to an hour-long. The only reason I am currently not finished with the show is that I want it to last as long as it can. I don't enjoy binge-watching a new show right when it comes out because before you know it, you have no show to watch and it's over.

If you enjoy Ben Platt or any other iconic actors in the tv industry, you should definitely add this show to your list. It's funny, endearing, and deep. What's better than that? Though it is described as a comedy, I wouldn't say the whole thing is a comedy. There are more small funny one-liners or scenes than anything. I wouldn't describe the whole base of the show as funny. It has those small one-liners to keep the show going and light-hearted in my opinion. I guess you will just have to watch it to see what you think.

Thank you for reading this article. I hope you all have an amazing week, and I will see you all next time with a new topic. Peace.

Your Friend,

Al

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
