The Blueprint For 2017

Every year comes with new expectations and goals. Maybe this will be the year I start eating better. Maybe I'll find someone who makes me feel like I'm on top of the world. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to do something I've always wanted to try. The start to every year is very important, if it starts off bad your mindset for the rest of the year is going to be negative until something good comes along. This year make things happen. Think positive this year. Good things come to those who send out good vibes. Instead of focusing on the things you don't have try focusing on the things you do have. Make 2017 a year of good.

Get out in the world, smile at the children, say hi to that cute boy, buy those shoes, plan a road trip with your friends. Go do something. Be brave. We have one less year than we did before. Time doesn't stop so why should you? Make your resolution and go through with it. Everyone makes fun of 'new years resolutions' but they're motivation to make the changes you've been wanting in your life. Go to the gym and get the body you've been wanting, get on that diet and don't back out, keep a clean house, don't let people walk all over you. You are the only obstacle in your life. Get motivated! Think about how good it'll feel when you achieve your goals.

Finding a person to join you on your journey to achieving your goals is a great way to start! Motivate each other to get your results then when you do reach your goals the celebration is way better to share with someone.

Make a plan and stick to it until the very end. Things get tough and some mountains are more difficult to climb than others but the view is spectacular.

Surround yourself with good people and good attitudes. The vibes we send out to the universe have a way of deciding our fate.

Most importantly: DON'T cheat! One hiccup isn't the end of the world but if you allow one hiccup that'll lead to another one and eventually you'll get lazy, seeing some results and choosing to quit or decide to not work as hard, don't do this. Stick to your guns.

You've got this in the bag! Just keep at it and the results will come. Settling isn't good enough, so fight for what you want and make it to the very end of the finish line. New Year's resolutions are good for us because they make us motivated to make things happen. So let's make things happen. 2017 will be a year of good but only if you work for it.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
