Note: This is part one of a two part series dedicated to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Penguins deserve to win the cup over and over again. Stop being a sore loser and understand they have a dynamic, fan base, owner, and captain second to none.
Pittsburgh is a city of their own, they have such a unique vibe and a team that matches their personality.
A solid team has a lot of fans, players, and good owner backing them up. In my opinion the Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the most incredible teams out there. Not just because they have been around for such a long period of time, but because of the team character. Take for instance Mario Lemieux, he played for the Penguins and is now the owner which makes him ten times more likely to actually care what happens in the lives, community, and status of the team.
"On March 13, 2007, Lemieux's ownership group announced a final agreement for a new multi-purpose arena, eventually to be named Consol Energy Center, to be built across the street from Mellon Arena. The deal keeps the Penguins in Pittsburgh for at least 30 years." Rossi, Bob (2016-06-13).
Now, not only are the Penguins going to be in business for 30 years, but they have an owner who truly cares about the entire community of Pittsburgh. That says a lot to me. A man willing to buy the franchise in order to keep it alive.
The Dynamic is unreal. There is something about watching the team play hockey that is unlike any other team in the NHL. Even with all the tension on Fleury the team still manages to keep their heads on straight and act with unbelievable class. The only possible way this could be achieved is with a strongly built team and coach that represents them. In most cases it would be "do or die" for a starting goalie to be sitting or benched in the playoffs. Fluery and Murray have an incredible relationship that separates them from other teams.
"In many cases, a relationship like this goes sour, the search for playing time spoiling it.
Not with Fleury, one of the game's warmest personalities.
"I’ve said it a lot," Murray said. "He’s been huge for my development. If I didn’t have a guy like that to learn from coming in as a rookie, I probably wouldn’t have done as well."
Murray also recognizes how unique the relationship might seem. He credits Fleury for not only making it functional but enjoyable." Jason Mackey
