What is the Phantom Pain? The Phantom Pain of the soul. It doesn't end. Who are you? I'm trying to rethink life to live in the now, going into the void to start over, but why are you still here? Every day you're still here. I can't break away, I made you, I am you, but you are not me, and you won't make me. An endless search, I still feel you there. But I try to hold you, to place you as something and all that you are seems to disappear. I still feel you.
You blind me, you hinder me, you hurt me, but I can't let you go because you won't leave. When I go into the darkness and the shadows disappear with silent tears, why do you stay? I'm my own world infinitely deep inside. Why don't you go away when surrounded by light? When the light is within, it just gets obliterated by your void. You don't answer to God. You just ask questions, questions I have the answers to but yet still can't answer.
No amount of praying, meditating, dancing, or anything, satisfies you because you know too much. I'm trapped by you, the shadows are nothing anymore, but you my Phantom, you bring me down. I feel it, you want me to hate you, to hate others that you don't agree with, but I refuse you. We're stuck in a dance, neither of us is going to stop, I will go unto your end, as you will go unto mine. I question you, and refuse me, I cannot ask you anything, because you go silent. You ask me everything. You're of the world on the inside, which is why we talk mind to mind. In this world out here, you do not belong. You stay in here, in here where it's all real until I try to behold it.
I'm stuck inside with you, I want to break out, but we can't, we're stuck. Because you and I are bound to one another, we are one and the same. I try to become you, but you refuse to become me. We must become one, for that is what we truly are. Our fates are bound. I want you to leave so badly, but you can't, because without you, I'm nothing. And that's just what you are, nothing, but you're everything too, all around I feel you there. At least we're always here for one another.
The dark and the light. Yin and Yang, May they all course through us. Because you and I, we will come together. Within me the stairway to heaven, the gateway to hell. For there are angels upon us, to guide the Gods among us that are fighting the demons within us. Will you not reach at your hand to grab mine? That is how we will become unstoppable, when we climb together.
When it comes down to it in the end, it’s just you and me, and we can decide what we want to do with ourselves in this world.
