I don't know about you, but there's a certain point during the summer when I get BORED. When I've been watching Netflix for two weeks straight and finished any series worth watching, or I'm too sunburned to go lay out anymore.
To combat the boring, almost-wish-school-would-start-just-to-have-something-to-do blues, here's my own personal summer bucket list.
Country Dancing: grab your boots and head to Copper Head Road! You don't have to be good, or know how to "pretzel" or flip, all you need is a dance partner and you're set! It's a super fun way to get out of the house and meet people.Learn to Cook: go online and find recipes to some of your favorite food and recreate them yourself! I did this last summer and my house was constantly stocked with cupcakes and waffles. It's really fun and delicious too!
Go On a Road Trip With Friends: it doesn't have to be super far away, me and my friend drove to a peach orchard about an hour away from Dallas and it was still super fun. Make sure you have a killer playlist for the road though.
Have an Outdoor Movie Night: blankets, good food, a projection screen, and great company. Find a field and let the movie marathon begin!
Make Your Own Popsicles: you can find plenty of awesome recipes online on how to make a healthy treat. It can be as simple as orange juice with some pineapple thrown in. You can find all kinds of fun molds at any grocery store too.
Find Cheap Concet Tickets: Gexa Energy Pavillion in Dallas is a great place to enjoy some music outdoors at a pretty low price. Tickets for the lawn usually never sell out completely, so bring a lawn chair and get ready to have a good time.
Explore Your Town: I guarantee you haven't seen all your town has to offer. Find a hole in the wall restaurant, an indie coffee shop, a book store you've never been to and make a day of it. You might be surprised what you find!
Volunteer Somewhere: Summer doesn't have to be a three month long nap if you don't want it to be. You can be beefing up your resume during your free time. Hospitals, animal shelters, and assisted living centers would be great places to start and make a difference in your community.
Have a happy, safe summer!
