If you're a person that experiences average amounts of travel-induced anxiety (like most of the world's population, I assume), then you may also experience the fear of leaving a crucial item behind when it comes to packing for said travels. Here are the following stages for how that usually turns out:
1. Panic
You definitely are forgetting something.
2. Panic
Oh, you're already at the airport? Doesn't matter. You left something behind.
3. Panic
Possibly a fear even worse than thinking you left the stove on before heading out, something has definitely been left behind.
4. Panic
Was it your phone charger? Your passport? Guess you'll find out sooner or later because you can't survive much longer without either of these crucial items.
5. Panic
If you're lucky, maybe it was just something that's easily replaceable like a toothbrush or shampoo. Your iPhone on the other hand, well...
6. Panic
What if you didn't pack enough pairs of socks or underwear for the entire 5 days that you'll be away? 10 pairs of socks surely can't be sufficient.
7. Panic
Maybe it won't be too bad. You couldn't have possibly forgotten everything, right?
8. Relax, just a little
Packing and panicking is just a natural part of the cycle of travels. You can afford to calm down a little bit. (But recheck your bag just to be safe!)
9. Settle in, put on some earbuds
Everything is quite honestly going to be okay. You will survive and rest easy knowing that material objects are only a small part of enhancing your overall comfort in your travel experience.
