"The Other Guys 2" In The Making?

"The Other Guys 2" In The Making?

It’s Hollywood, so it’s not a big shocker when you see two esteemed actors collaborating on a piece together, again. But it makes you wonder: do we smell a sequel?

Mark Wahlberg ("Ted 2," "Transformers: Age of Extinction") and Will Ferrell ("Get Hard," "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues") starred alongside each other in “The Other Guys,” which was released all the way back in August 2010. Playing NYPD detectives, Wahlberg and Ferrell are assigned a case that could possibly be the biggest crime takedown of their careers and, naturally, they have to take down the bad guys without taking down each other in the process, as personalities clash.

It would be an interesting sequel, but it’s not the latest collaboration. Wahlberg and Ferrell have a different movie in mind: a comedy called “Daddy’s Home.”

Set to release Christmas Day, Ferrell plays a radio executive with a good life. He is the husband of a beautiful woman, step-dad to two wonderful kids, and all seems perfect… that is until Dusty Mayron (Wahlberg) comes into the picture. The problem is: Dusty once had the “Husband and Father” title. Fighting for the kids’ attention, it becomes the battle of Dad vs. Daddy, as Ferrell and Wahlberg try to outshine the other.

Wahlberg and Ferrell compete as Dylan and Megan lay down for bed.

Raking in about a gross of $170 million, according to Box Office Mojo, in their first movie together, we can expect funny things from this dynamic duo. When MTV sat down with Adam McKay, director of “The Other Guys,” back in April 2010, McKay spoke about the onscreen pairing: “The second I saw Will and Mark together, it was just a completely different energy [compared to the hilarious pairing of John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell in “Step Brothers,” which McKay also directed].” He continued to state that his notion that they would be the last two men he expected to be paired together made them more fascinating to watch: “The two of them together are instantly interesting.” Although McKay will not be directing “Daddy’s Home,” we can assume that Will and Mark will still be fascinating to watch.

Albeit we won’t be seeing Detectives Gamble and Hoitz on the big screen anytime soon, we are going to be welcoming back a completely different trio for a movie of their own. Here’s a few hints: they sing, they dance, they talk, and, of course, “Alvin!" If you guessed Alvin and the Chipmunks, you guessed right. We will be seeing Alvin, Simon, and Theodore once again as their furry tails head to the Big City in their fourth installment. “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” is set to hit theaters December 23 - of course, just the perfect timing to ring in the holidays.

Alvin, Simon, and Theodore will continue to be voiced by Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Jesse McCartney, respectively. And Jason Lee will still be portraying the chipmunks’ guardian, Dave. Joining the cast this time around is Bella Thorn, recently known for “The DUFF,” “Blended,” and Disney’s "Shake it Up."

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
