How It Feels To Be Rejected Again

8 Tips on how to reject a guy

Rebecca's Point of View:

Finally it's the weekend but the only exciting thing is going grocery shopping. I usually go to the store by my house, but this time I chose to go to a different one. This store is a lot bigger than my original and it's going to get some time to get used to. Since I know I'm going to be here for a while, I should get familiar with the area. I hope some day soon, I'll be able to see Liam again because I can't get him off my mind. I really like Liam but I still feel bad I rejected Mr. Brooks. Mr. Brooks has been nice to me since I started, but I don't feel the same way as him.

As I enter the store I grab a shopping cart and go to the produce section, because I need to start eating healthier. I look at my shopping list and then when I look up I see Mr. Brooks. What's he doing here? Should I go over and say hi? Or should I pretend I never saw him? Just as I was about to turn around and leave, he sees me. To be polite I walk over and greet him, he has the biggest smile on his face and I have a feeling he still likes me.

"Hi! How are you?" Mr. Brooks says.

"I'm good, how about you?"

"I'm great now!" Why is he great now? Is it because he saw me?

Mr. Brooks then says, "I didn't know you come to this grocery store."

"Yea, I don't usually go to this one. But I figured to try something new." Now I'm never coming here again. In the corner of my eye I see a familiar face, and it's Liam! Changed my mind, now I will definitely come here now. Liam starts walking over in our direction. He says, "Hey! Don't you work at Monclairs Fashion Boutique?"

"Yea, I do. Remember when I helped you pick out a suite for your friends wedding?"

"Oh yea, how could I forget a pretty face like yours?" That's really nice of him to say, and I feel my cheeks heating up.

"Aww, you're blushing!"

"Oh I am? I'm so sorry!"

"It's alright, I find that very attractive. Are you and this guy dating?" Pointing to Mr. Brooks.

"No, we are just co-workers." Liam turns his back to Mr. Brooks and asks me, "Would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow night?"

"I would love to!"

"Great! I'll pick you up at seven." He writes down his number and gives it to me with a warm smile.

"Okay see great! See you then!"

Mr. Brooks Point of View:

When I saw Rebecca, my heart felt like it was going to leap out of my chest. I didn't think I would see her outside of work so I wasn't dressed as professional. She started walking over to me so I tried to make myself look presentable. When she walks over, I say my usual greeting. She looked so beautiful it was to concentrate on what she was saying, but some how I managed.

At one point when I was talking to her, I saw the guy she was talking to the other day coming towards us. Why does he always have to show up? He starts talking to her and I can feel the jealousy inside me. I can't believe she flirts back with him. What does she see in him that I don't have? All of a sudden he whispers to her, and I have a feeling what he asked because Liam looked at me when he asked her that question.

Then he turn his back to me, like I don't exist and asks her to go on a date with him. He thought I couldn't hear him, but it was loud and clear. I was hoping she was going to say no because why would she want to go on a date with him? She doesn't even know this guy. When she said yes, my heart dropped. Why didn't she give me a chance when she gives him a chance? I guess I'll never be good enough for her. I guess I should just stop trying, because she clearly doesn't feel the same as me.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
