Some of the best and worst moments of this year's Academy Awards.

In case you missed it, last night was the 89th Academy Awards. From #EnvelopeGate, to Auli'i Cravalho getting whacked in the head by a flag during her performance, I must say, it was quite a mess. Here are some of the best and worst moments from the 2017 Oscars.

1. Let's start with Moana.

Auli'i Cravalho, the voice of Disney's Moana, delivered a stunning performance of "How Far I'll Go" from the film. Though she got side-swiped by one of the background dancer's flags, she handled it like a true princess and never faltered.

2. Nicole Kidman's "Babadook" hands.

I was starting to think there wasn't a single thing Nicole Kidman can't do. And then I saw her clapping at the Oscars. It looks like a gear switched off in her brain, and since when are her fingers so long? What was that?

3. Brie Larson and Casey Affleck round two.

If you don't know about the controversy surrounding Casey Affleck, two women filed sexual harassment lawsuits against him in 2010. They were women working on his movie, I'm Still Here. The claims were settled out of court, leaving many people with a sour taste in their mouth toward Affleck. One of those people being Brie Larson, an actress and recently won an award for her portrayal of a sexual assault victim in the film Room. Upon announcing Affleck's win, she did not clap and did not hug him. This is also not Larson's first time having to hand an award to Affleck. Last month, at the 2017 Golden Globes, she was tasked with presenting "Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture," which Affleck won. Larson handled her job professionally in both situations, but you can see the disappointment on her face.

4. Chrissy Teigen's power nap.

During Affleck's acceptance speech, Chrissy Teigen decided it was the perfect time to take a nap. You can see her leaning on husband John Legend's shoulder in the top right corner. Alicia Vikander doesn't look too thrilled either!

5. The sugar-filled sky.

A few times throughout the show, candy-filled parachutes fell from the sky into the audience. I loved watching the stars in the audience reach for the candy, like little kids in awe. Here are some of my favorite reactions:

6. Justin Timberlake's opening performance.

JT's performance was a great way to start the show: the crowd was on their feet dancing, and everyone was singing along. Who could sit still during "Can't Stop The Feeling"? Timberlake also adorably danced with wife Jessica Biel.

7. Kate McKinnon.

She may have only graced the Oscars stage for a minute or two, but she always brings the laughs. She and Jason Bateman presented the awards for best costume makeup and hairstyling. McKinnon strutted out, and confidently assured Bateman that they would nail it. She then went on to define "makeup" as the "art of ending an argument" and "costumes" as "the cost of humes." Such a short and simple joke, but it had me rolling. I'm starting a petition to have McKinnon host next year.

8. THAT moment.

You know the one, the moment everyone is talking about: "Envelope Gate." If you missed it, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway reunited to present the award for "Best Picture." When Beatty opened the envelope, he took a long pause, which the audience interpreted as a joke. However, he paused out of confusion, not for comedic purposes. The envelope he was given was the envelope for "Best Actress," which Emma Stone received for La La Land. Since it said "La La Land" on the card, Dunaway announced the film as the winner. After the entire cast and crew went on stage to accept their awards, they were informed that it was a mistake, and the the actual Best Picture winner was Moonlight. The entire fiasco was captured, and you can watch it here.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
