To The One Who Owns Their Heart

To the one who owns their heart,

Every day we see someone share something awesome about their best friend and how that person is unique. How that person can be the most caring person in the world. Then one day, when they get into a relationship, we often think if that person is good enough for our best friend. It becomes an often thought in our head if they're good to the one we've been inseparable with. Are they holding them when they're upset, or are they making them laugh at every possible thing in life? When in reality it could be the best thing that happened to them. So here's my shoutout to you for dealing with what I've dealt with for years: a special soul.

Understand that you have an incredible person who seems to think you're the whole world. A soul that's brighter than most chose to fall in love with you. They become a pain (trust me I know. Many years I've dealt with these pains). They get on your nerves, and sometimes get too worried about the littlest things. Sometimes they may take you for granted, but trust me they know how good they've got it with you. My best friend is insane and nuts. They're a hilarious person and have a heart bigger than the ocean. It takes a special person to cope with that and to love them unconditionally. That person is you, it looks like.

My best friend chose you to love and to cherish. Sometimes when they're having bad issues I won't hear about it until weeks later when the problem has already been fixed. All because you were a special person and you helped them. You're the one who gets to sit and play games with them all night and laugh till 3 a.m. They've grown to you. They've began to talk nothing but about you. Whether this is the "one" or not, them choosing you is pretty special enough. You've become my best friend's new best friend. And I'm OK with that.

You comfort them when they cry or when they're lonely. You let them know every night that life is tough, but it will be OK. You hold their hand through anything in life, whether it's negative or positive. You're a tough soul who I see is in love just as much as they are.

I don't know where I'll be in 10 or 15 years. I mean, I'm in love with another beautiful soul myself. Maybe we will move far away or stay in the same town. Maybe my best friend feels the same about her as I feel about you. But I do know this. No matter where I go in life I'll always have my best friend... and now their other half as well. You're an incredible human being. I'm proud to say my best friend has found another person to be their best friend.

Sincerely,

Their best friend.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
