Seven types of friends I have.

When someone would ask me who my best friend is, a lot of people come to mind. I have one best friend that has been in my life forever and I know will always be there for me, but I’ve met a lot of awesome friends on my journey through life that I consider my best friends. So don’t let someone tell you “you can only have one best friend,” because there are a lot of different type of friends that you need in your life.

1.The Friend That is Basically a Mom/ Patient One

When I hear the Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There For You,” the first person I relate that to is Kerri. Everyone has a mom of their friend group, the one that always looks out for you and will be there if you need. Kerri is that person for me! We started out in the same Girl Scout troop and grew very close the end of sophomore year. She’s always there for me if I need a ride, need advice, or just need a laugh. I’m thankful for Kerri and I know she can always give me a neutral opinion on things if I need it. She has taught me so much and has made me into a better person I believe. She is very patient with me and there when I force everyone to watch One Direction videos. I’m lucky our colleges are only an hour away from each other so I can see her face more often. I LOVE YOU KERPER (infinity sign)

2. The Friend That is EXTREMELY Honest/ The Bad Texter

Dead.Honest. I have never met someone who speaks their mind as truthfully as Marissa does, and I admire it a lot. I know if I ever need an HONEST opinion, even if it hurts, I could go to her. She is very fashionable and up to date on trends, which I’m not, so it’s good to have her around. Trust comes with honesty and I would trust her with my life if I had to. I always tell her my problems and she always gives the best advice. Marissa is someone that I could lay around with and do nothing all day, but it would be a day we talked about forever. We make everything fun in the most boring situations. If you thought my laugh was bad, you should hear hers! I am so thankful I met her at college and I’m so excited to make so many more memories together. She’s the Niall to my Harry.

3. The Friend That is Always Documenting Things/ The Inspiring One

If Hannah was not in my life, my friends from high school and I would actually have no pictures of each other. We may sigh when you ask strangers to take our pictures but you know we Instagram them. Hannah always knew where she wanted to go to school and what she wanted to do, which scared me A LOT. But she was always helpful and pushed me to do my best. I still have the good luck text she sent me right before I took my SAT for the third time (which I did horribly on and by the way, I have very strong opinions about standardized tests). She also helped me edit my college essay. She would also encourage me to take risks, which for me is literally tweeting something “ballsy” at someone we went to High School with, but still. Thanks for always being there for me Han, I love you!!! I’M WITH HER!!!!!!!!

4. The Sarcastic One/ The Always Positive One

My sense of humor is kinda messed up. It’s very dry but I also think things are funny that I probably shouldn’t, but luckily Kelly and I basically have the same humor. Not only do we both love The Office and Friends, but we find the weirdest things that will make us die of laughter. MMMHMMMM HUNTIE. When we tell stories we also exaggerate them to the maximum and come up with endings that would literally never happen but we all seem to find them funny. You’re one of the few people that I can have a full conversation with only using bitmojiis. Kelly always knows how to turn a bad situation into a good one. She always tries to give off positive vibes which is something I admire about her. I know I can always tell her my problems because she never judges anyone for their actions. Thankful for you every day Kel, I love you. #TEAMTK

5. The Friend That Always Talks in The Group Chat/ Takes the Joke Too Far

There is always that one friend that will send hundreds of memes or funny videos in your group chat even if no one is answering- that’s Meg. Meg is someone you can go to if you need a laugh or a cry. She always makes me feel comfortable and I know I can trust her with anything. Meg and I are also super similar in the way that we always seem to have very awkward moments in public situations and we fumble our words a lot. “EVERYBODY CRIES.” Meg is also that friend that takes the funny story WAY TOO FAR, but that’s why we love her. She is my cuddle and gym buddy and I feel like I’ve known her my whole life. Thanks for taking me to cool woods parties and being my mom at school Meggie, LOVE YOU!

6. The Friend That I Live With / Always On Her Phone

I lucked out when I went to college. I met Kristina through FaceBook and we instantly clicked, but I was so nervous to meet her IRL. Luckily, she didn’t catfish me!! Thanks, Kris. Kristina and I are actually the same person which scares me. We finish each others sentences a lot but that is probably only when we are quoting Shane Dawson videos. After a long stressful day of classes, work, and clubs, I look forward to coming back to our door room and getting some stress relief (OR literally watching the episode Stress Relief 1 and 2 of The Office. Seriously check it out). Even though I try to tell you stories and you’re on your phone, I know you’re listening. Thanks for being my first college best friend and one that I know I will have for a lifetime. Also shout out to you for dealing with me talk about Shawn Mendes for the past two weeks. LOVE YA #LARRYSIREAL #WHATCANWEDOONTHISBUS

7. The Friend That No Matter What Will Drop Everything For Me/ Will Always Eat With Me

I think everyone has a friend that they’ve known since forever, but mines pretty special. Alaina has been my best friend since Pre-K and I know she’ll always be in my life. She’s the person I always want to tell the good things to and the bad things to. Her family is my family and vise versa. The memories we share with each other are memories I will always cherish. I think we are one of the only people out their that watched The Notebook and didn’t shed one tear. Even when we are away at college, we make time to talk to each other and fill each other in. I am so proud of the person you are, who you will become, and that you are my best friend. Thanks for making weird music videos with me, eating a whole tub of cookie dough, and forming an iconic band. You’re my top dog.

These seven girls will always be by my side no matter what. I’ve lost a few friends during my life which I never wanted to happen, but these girls show me what a true friend is. Thanks for keeping me sane. Also I feel like I would categorize myself as “The Friend Whose Laugh is Funnier Than the Joke/ Fights on the Internet and Not in Person".

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
