Creative minds are beautiful things
but with them comes power,
power that starts small
a seed of an idea
and without realizing
you've grown yourself an entire garden,
something that needs tending to.
My mind created a Garden of You.
It saw our futures that grew from our pasts,
planted a storyline
with six hundred and fifty-seven endings.
It spread stars across the soil
and watched as they aligned,
waited for the harvest moon to shine
the night we danced to the rhythm
of the rain as it kissed the ground.
My mind planted the landscapes we traveled,
tasted the dirt that caked our shoes.
It weeded out the bad
and watered the good
and now I have a healthy garden
that I never asked for
yet would still tend to because
it was my own accidental creation.
I let my mind create a Garden of You
and someday I will let my garden grow
large enough for you to see.
Maybe then you'll see how much I cared
for the idea of you,
maybe then you'll start one of your own.
