Society is horrified by the number on the scale. I am here to inform you that a number is only the amount you weigh on a platform. Yes, it is good to be a healthy weight. However, you cannot use that number to evaluate who you are as a person.
1. The number on the scale does not define your beauty.
Whether you weigh 100 pounds or 300 pounds, your heart and your worth is so much more than a number. You are beautiful, regardless of the number on the scale.
2. The number on the scale does not define your intelligence.
Believe it or not, many people associate "stupid" and body types, such as "skinny" or "fat" together. The number on a scale does not measure your intelligence or how well you learn. That is why we have an educational system. Please know you can do anything you put your mind to, regardless of the number on the scale.
3. The number on the scale does not define your available opportunities for body-positivity.
I just had an opportunity to be a model in Eastern Carolina fashion week and I am plus-size. I have received many acting jobs as well. The number on the scale has never limited me to do what I wanted to do and it should not limit you either.
4. The number on the scale does not define your confidence.
I remember when I used to put myself down all the time every time I stepped on the scale. Even though it took me a while, loving yourself is something that takes loneliness, God, and taking the time to love who you are as a person. The number on the scale has nothing to do with that. Love your heart, mind, and soul.
5. The number on the scale does not define love.
If you have ever heard a man or woman say "I do not date people that are fat" or "I do not date people that are skinny, bones are for dogs," let them go. If they care about the number on the scale more than about how great of a person you are, you do not need to be with them. They would never be capable of loving who you are if they are focused on what you look like on the outside.
This is a very big problem that I have noticed in today's society. I want every woman and man to know that you are great, regardless of the number on the scale.
