As I graduate from college, and get ready to move on to the next chapter of my life, I reflect on the last four years and how fast they went. They don't lie when they say that college is the best time of your life. It's true. I had a blast. I got to play Division 1 tennis, while earning an education, and making lifelong friends and memories along the way. Although the four years in college ended way to fast, I'm so excited to move on with my life.
Everyone keeps asking me if it feels weird to graduate, or not be on the tennis team anymore, but honestly it doesn't feel that weird to me because for one, I am continuing my education by pursuing my masters degree in Sports Administration, so the feeling of graduating isn't the same as others, because I will be coming back to the same school in the fall to start classes once again. Secondly, I am fortunate enough to have been given the amazing opportunity to not be done with tennis either, and be the assistant coach for the same tennis team I played on for four years.
I couldn't be more excited for the next chapter in my life and all the adventures and memories I am going to make in the future. In retrospect, it really is weird I'm graduating because I can still remember my first days on campus, moving into the dorms, and eating at the dining halls. And although I haven't been living on campus for a few years, I still get a nostalgic feeling about those first few days on campus.
I can only hope my next couple years of school and coaching are as good as the last four were. Sure I wont be doing the same things as I was before, but I'm looking forward to really grow up and understand how the real world works without fully having to be out there on my own yet. I am so thankful for all the opportunities I have had, and were given to me. I will forever be grateful to have been a collegiate student athlete, earning my bachelors degree, and now have the opportunity to further my education and get started in the career field that I love.
