One Washington man is conquering the diet we all wish we could be on: the Chipotle diet. There’s no limitation to the diet – other than you have to eat Chipotle at least once a day for 366 days.
His name is Devin Cunningham, and honestly, he’s my hero. I thought I was a Chipotle addict, but when I heard his story, I knew my relationship with Chipotle was insignificant.
Cunningham’s commitment to his diet is admirable, to say the least. When Chipotle was dealing with their E. coli scandal, stores around him were closed, thus putting his challenge in jeopardy, according to an interview he had with KCPQ, a news station in Washington.
So what did he do? He drove all the way to Canada to ensure that he would have a sufficient stash of Chipotle to get him through the dry spell.
If that’s not a commitment, I don’t know what is.
But not only has he shown his dedication to the restaurant chain that everyone loves, he’s shown that it’s possible to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle all while consuming burritos daily – finally, a diet that we can all follow.
Cunningham posts a picture of his meal, along with receipt proof, on Instagram and Facebook pretty much every day. The journey that this man has gone through can be seen with lots of calorically-dense, packed burritos in the beginning, to now carefully weighed out portions of the different ingredients that Chipotle offers.
According to the station, Cunningham has dropped over 20 pounds by eating Chipotle daily – granted, it is now portioned out Chipotle, but Chipotle nonetheless.
While some may think this challenge is just something fun to do, it represents something much more than that: it shows that if you want to lose weight, you don’t need to starve yourself.
It’s no surprise that Chipotle is pretty much a fast food restaurant, but it’s all about making smarter choices with the options that are in front of you. While it may sound fun to get a burrito with double meat and extra cheese, there is no way that it is good for you.
Cunningham presents a very important idea to us all that live in a world centered around being slim: eat smart, and you’ll lose weight.
