Felt mysterious album cover allows you to focus on the music. If you search Her up you won't find a lot about her. This album is a great start to getting out there. Can't wait to see what else she has in store.

Her lyric capability focuses on relationships and you know I'm a sucker for love and heartache songs. Love is something that is missing off the airways. We need more of the romance from R&B right now. Too much heartache and not enough excitement for love itself. Her lyrics are very straight forward, you can't miss what she's saying. Her writing reminds me of a diary; basically just the raw content of her story without analogies and metaphors. I'm one to say songwriting is perspective but it'd be nice to hear a few play on words or even a metaphor more often. Best lyric so far was from Focus:

Verse 2 says "He gets this money so I guess I can't complain, I feel alone even when we're alone" that lyric makes me shed a tear and then I get into my feelings as if I had a reason to.

The sample she used with Floetry was wicked just because Floetry provides neo-soul feels and she mixed it with an alternative r&b beat which is an amazing genre fusion.
Her style reminds me of Jhene Aiko with not so much vocal arrangements but a focus on lyric content.

My favorite tracks off this album are "U" and "Losing." "U" is a phenomenal piece because I get these type of sex feels. The beat reminds me of a nice slow jam to have sex to, and the lyric content is deep. I love the word play with it. For example, she says,it could be us but it's just U. She's saying the guy is selfish and he's not really down for her. I love how the hook just pulls on your heartstrings and is so easy to become addicted to.

"Losing" is another favorite track. Sometimes we get caught up in the revolution going on politically or the "fuck bitches get money" that we don't seem to discuss the things we need a lot of; love & relationships. Relationships are the most complex things we have, whether it's with family or significant others and I believe besides turning up, I need to always reevaluate my love life.

Her instrumentals are sometimes relaxing, but overbearing to her lyric content causing for distraction. But I also think her songs are one of those that would relate to you when you're in the same situation she sings about. It's a song you keep in the back of your library for when you finally get in a relationship and have the same problems or just want something to relate to.
Her spoken word in the one interlude was very different. It reminds me of "Diary" by Wale, but because of the content of the spoken word, it reminds me of Alicia Keys', "You don't know my name." It's so sexy and sultry, yet makes you feel like you're there. The first time I listened to it, I didn't think it'd finish so quickly, so I played on repeat until my soul was filled.

Her emotions are poured in the lyrics, but I want more vocally from her. She stays in the same range even though harmonies show a little variation of her capabilities. The delivery of some songs like "Wait For It" strongly resemble a Drake-type of undertone–rapping and singing at the same time. It reminds me of a full album of Drake's Trust Issues like take care all over again. I love it. The album, overall, is something to listen to.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
