7 reasons to love a Buffalo on the rise

The New Buffalo
SUNY at Buffalo

The Buffalo of today is far different city than that of the past. The city is going through a revitalization, and there are multitudes of reasons to love this city. Here are just a few:

1. The Waterfront

I actually just began exploring the waterfront recently, but it is so amazing how the city has revitalized its waterfront. With more and more people pushing for more development of the waterfront, it will be interesting to see where it goes.

2.) Downtown- New clubs, bars, shops, restaurants. All of these things make any city popular, and the influx of these businesses to Buffalo has really made Downtown a popular spot.

3.) The Bills- After years of struggles, it only seems right that the Bills are on the rise with the city itself. While it will still take time, the Bills are showing great promise.

4.) The Sabres- A similar story to the Bills, the Sabres have a lot of young talent, and they are showing that they are also a team on the rise. It will be exciting to watch the Bills and Sabres develop over the next few years.

5.) Elmwood- Elmwood is another area of the city that has brought in more businesses, especially businesses that cater to the local college student population. Whether your looking for shopping, eating, or bars, Elmwood is definitely the place to be.

6.) The Location- Buffalo's location is one of the best. 30 minutes to Niagara Falls, a few hours away from Toronto or Cleveland, and with Canada to explore just over the river, the area around Buffalo offers just as much as the city itself does.

7.) The Food- This is by far one of my favorites. Buffalo wings, amazing restaurants, food trucks. It all adds up into an amazing food heaven to be bravely explored out there in the city.

The city of Buffalo itself is experiencing a desperately needed revitalization. It is fascinating to watch and participate in, and for those of us who call this city home, the new and improved Buffalo is easy to love.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.
