The New Aged Renaissance

As a generation, we have affected the world. Maybe it is because we are all closer that we sparked this change but we have done it.

The New Aged Renaissance

It seems lately that millennials are getting a bad rap. The young generation that a lot of use are apart of seems to be knocked as lazy, unfocused, and well pretty bad at adulting. Is that true though? I mean we have all heard the things that have been said.

We are lazy because we are unemployed, we don’t care about our future because we take the unconventional path, and we generally aren’t what past generations were. What if I told you that the path that we are blazing for ourselves is a different one entirely, and we are all the better for it? That’s right I am about to get up onto my soap box.

Our generation was raised differently we think differently. We were the first generation to exist in a simpler time, only to have technology thrust upon us. Our world exploded over night, and with it, our imaginations were opened up. With it, we had the ability to dream, and that’s what we did. That’s what our generation is, a bunch of dreamers and overachievers. In it is some type of intrinsic beauty. The way we think is different, and we chase our dreams in a different way. We find value in the small things and inspiration in the great big world that we call home. We stand out and live our lives and that’s not something the world and those who came before us are used to.

Every generation before us kind of fit a mold that was crafted for them by the previous generation. There was a set way to act and fit into the status quo, however, we don’t do it that way. The technology that opened our minds and the world to us allowed for us to break the mold. We have the ability to create and draw on the inspiration from the past. We shape the world we want in our minds and create it with our very own hands. That’s why we are unique: we create the world we want. We don’t accept anything that is given to us. We link the world and everything that we want. In our time, we are the icons. We have used our tools to our disposal very efficiently. I mean in a short time we have used the internet to launch businesses, spark social movements, and effectively change the world.

As a generation, we have affected the world. Maybe it is because we are all closer that we sparked this change but we have done it. We create what we want and force people to listen to us. We have pushed art and creativity to new heights and are challenging the boundaries of what we know about science. We are bringing a rebirth of culture, possibly redefining culture as it is. We are creating a new renaissance and generations are going to have to follow it. Maybe it is the irony of the situation that we have created a broken mold for all generations to use from here on out.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

sisters

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
