The Must See in the MKE

Milwaukee is honestly one of the coolest cities I've ever been to. It has cool restaurants, breweries, and museums. I came to Marquette in part due to the city it is located in. Milwaukee has a spirit unlike a lot of places. Its character is alive in the people who live here. The people of Milwaukee are eccentric and kind and giving. It has something for everyone; from bikers to plant lovers. Here's a small list of the coolest places to go in the 414.

1. The Public Market

A place to get soup, sushi, the best cookies in the world or just about any type of cheese.

2. The Swing Park

A hidden treasure in a big city. A place you have to find and explore for yourself.

3. Riverwalk

A cool place to go on runs or stroll with friends.

4. Bradford Beach

A little slice of the coast in the midst of skyscrapers.

5. The Domes

A botanical oasis in a concrete jungle.

6. Collectivo

My absolute favorite place to study with my friends. Their coffee, smoothies, and sandwiches make it 10x better.

7. The Bradley Center

Go Golden Eagles! Go Bucks. The Bradley Center is always filled with a lot of energy.

8. The Rave

Wanna rave? Go to The Rave.

9. Marquette's Campus

This one's obvious.. MU is located right in MKE and the perks are endless.

10. Miller Park

Tailgate with your friends while you root on the Brewers and eat some brats!

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
