Just because you just graduated high-school or your barely 21 shouldn't label you as not having the opportunity presented to reach a level of success. I personally believe that one can start being successful at a toddler age. Although, let's focus more on the age group where success actually starts to matter such as 15-19. I remember in high-school when teachers used to tell us that in order to succeed in the future we must put our all into our present school work. Although, why did it have to wait until the future? Why couldn't it start in the present moment?
I started to ask all the right questions to all the right people. My principal started to see the drive I had to succeed and allowed me and many other students to take the Piedmont Technical College Aptitude test. This test would let them know if we have the education level to take college-level dual enrollment classes. Sure enough, I passed with an exemplary score and was inducted into the program at the beginning of my junior year in high-school along with 14 other students. This allowed me to take full-time credit hours every semester in high school, all the way to the point that I graduated high school with an Associates of Arts degree. Even better? I was only 17.
A year and a half later, I am now considered a senior at Lander University and my expected graduation is Fall 2017. I'll only be 20 then. Then of course, I plan to attend graduate school to further my education. And calculating that up, I could possibly have my Masters maybe even my Doctorate by the time I'm 22.
Now, you're probably thinking that I just wanna brag on myself, wrong. I'm trying to show high schoolers and even college students, that no matter how old you are that you succeed as far as you want to. I pushed for the opportunities and I received them. So, I encourage you to do the same. High schoolers, ask about the dual enrollment programs, ask about advanced class, and join the organizations at the school! College students, join more organizations, ask about honor societies, and try your best in all your classes. All it takes is a little effort and the motivation to succeed.
Do you accept my challenge?
