Disney Channel broke the internet last month when they announced that they were going to have a marathon of everyone's favorite movies. The marathon, that took place Memorial Day weekend, was in celebration of the 100th DCOM premiere. I was so excited for this because I got to see the movies I grew up with and that helped me grow. Though some movies were overlooked in the selection and time placements, the marathon had a wonderful selection that brought a nostalgic feel to the weekend. So, to recognize the overlooked movies, here is a list of my favorite underrated DCOMs (in no particular order):
1. "Double Teamed" (2002)
Sibling rivalry at its best!
2. "Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-off" (2003)
Defeating traditional gender roles FTW!
3. "The Color of Friendship" (2000)
One of the first movies that portrayed an interracial friendship, and perfectly.
4. "Stuck in the Suburbs" (2004)
Celebrities are people too.
5. "Now You See It..." (2005)
This movie is just cute, tbh.
6. "Motocrossed" (2001)
D*mn, Disney ... back at it again with defeating gender roles.
7. "Read It and Weep" (2006)
8. "The Thirteenth Year" (1999)
Not your typical 13th birthday surprise.
9. "Quints" (2000)
Teaches how to adjust to having siblings.
10. "The Luck of the Irish" (2001)
Always remember where you come from.
11. "Cadet Kelly" (2002)
How to accept new people and places into your life.
12. "Go Figure" (2005)
You can like more than two things.
13. "Phantom of the Megaplex" (2000)
Only scary movie that I can handle, tbh.
14. "Tiger Cruise" (2004)
Shows a different kind of American family.
15. "Right on Track" (2003)
Again with the gender roles. Also, I am very biased with this one because this is my life. (Peek below.)
