It's the most magical time of year!

It is that time again. The chase for the Stanley Cup begins this week with the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Who will take home the Cup this year? Will the Pittsburgh Penguins repeat as champions or will someone new like San Jose, Washington, or even Columbus win? Who will be the surprise of the postseason once again?

Only time will tell but for now, let’s look at the matchups for the first round of the playoffs.


Eastern Conference

1. Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers

Prediction: Rangers in 6

2. Ottawa Senators vs. Boston Bruins

Prediction: Bruins in 5

3. Washington Capitals vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Prediction: Capitals in 5

4. Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Prediction: Penguins in 6


Western Conference

1. Chicago Blackhawks vs. Nashville Predators

Prediction: Blackhawks in 5

2. Minnesota Wild vs. St. Louis Blues

Prediction: Blues in 7

3. Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames

Prediction: Ducks in 5

4. San Jose Sharks vs. Edmonton Oilers

Prediction: Sharks in 6


Who will emerge victorious out of each group? Who will raise the Cup come June? We shall wait and see. Happy Stanley Cup Playoffs, everyone. It is about to be fun.
