If you've ever wanted to travel outside of the U.S. but never known where to go, here are a few festivals to get to started with planning. Start your adventure in Spain with some of the most renowned festivals that Europe has to offer you.

1. Sant Fermín (Running of the Bulls)

Sant Fermin is one of the most famous celebrations Spain has to offer, located in the city of Pamplona in Northern Spain, you can run with the bulls through the city streets. The objective is to run as close as you can to the bull for as long as possible. However, if you are not careful, you will get injured, in previous years there have even been deaths from being impaled by the bull. The danger is what makes it worth while right? The races begin on the 7th of July and last for 7 days.

2. Las Fallas de Valencia (The Fallas)

The Fallas is a festival that starts on May 15th and goes until May 19th in Valencia. It is a very popular light show, with a huge firework show and the last night is known as burn night, where more than 1000 fallas, monuments made of wood that are built throughout the year, are burned accompanied by music and large parties.


3. San Juan

The party of San Juan happens throughout Spain on the 21th of June. People usually light campfires and throw firecracker in the streets. But on the island of Menorca, they have a tradition which horsemen ride their horses through the crowded streets in celebration. People fill the streets with drinks in hand celebrating everywhere you go on this day, so if you visit in late June be sure you're ready to party.


4. Feria de Abril (Seville Fair)

The Seville Fair is a festival that represents the culture of southern Spain. It goes on for one week in early April. Among all the things that you can see in this festival, the most wonderful things to see are the dresses, dances and carriages. Team that up with the music that floods the streets and you're in for a party.


5. Patum de Berga

The Patum de Berga is a traditional party that takes place in Catalonia. It is famous for the diverse and popular shows in the streets. It consists of a several dances accompanied by drums and fireworks. The several traditional songs don't allow people to move without dancing. This is a huge traditional dance party that overthrows the streets of Catalonia, be sure to have comfortable shoes on, you'll need them.
